Princess Bamba Collection

The famous princess Bamba collection is housed in the haveli of Mai Jindan. This invaluable collection comprises of arts, crafts and beautiful paintings of the Sikh rulers and their families. Most of these paintings, commissioned by the Sikh rulers are the works of European artists.

The collection belongs to maharaja Ranjit Singh and his son Maharja Dalip Singh most of the collection appear to have originally gone out of the Sikh darbar in Lahore to England, where maharaja Dulip Singh was exiled after the annexation of Punjab by the British in 1849. the collection later inherited by his daughter princess Bamba who died issueless in 1957 when it was acquired.
